Our Role
An unpowered barge under tow struck a submerged object in regional port waters, developed a list and was intentionally grounded for safety before sinking.
Appointed as independent loss adjusters, we validated policy response under standard hull conditions and confirmed the applicability of general average on
common-safety grounds.
We coordinated the salvage and refloat, arranged temporary repairs and towage to the yard, and oversaw the dry-dock survey and subsequent remedial works.
Throughout, we scrutinised evidence, logs, invoices and time sheets, separating particular average from general average, and tested warranties and causation to ensure fair application of cover. Working closely with owners, contractors, and attending surveyors, we negotiated a clear, well-reasoned settlement recommendation accepted by stakeholders.
The assignment demonstrates our practical marine expertise, disciplined cost control, and end-to-end claim management from incident to settlement.
